SDGs

Sustainable Development Goals, Agenda 2030

Learn about the Global Goals and spread the word!

In September 2015, 193 world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development. If these goals are completed, it would mean an end to extreme poverty, inequality and climate change by 2030.

Our governments have a plan to save our planet…it’s our job to make sure they stick to it.

The Global Goals are only going to work if we fight for them, and you can’t fight for your rights if you don’t know what they are. We believe the goals are only going to be completed if we can make them famous. Share them!

SDG Two-Pagers: Why It Matters are excellent 2-page colorful overviews of each of the goals.

SDG One-Pagers: all 17 goals with detailed targets (merged into one document, one page each)

Tracking the Impact

Stanford University’s Sustainable Urban Systems Initiative applies a broad range of engineering disciplines to provide integrated, sustainable human- and nature-centered approaches to shape the future of cities in our neighborhood as well in other parts of the world. Locally, SUS advises on projects focused on housing in East Palo Alto, revitalizing a reemerging Stockton, and tracking the SDGs in San Jose – and works regionally on resilience against local sea level rise and improving local mobility. During the academic year, SUS hosts a regular seminar on sustainability issues (open to the public) and an annual symposium engaging with local community leaders.
